Frankincense is a resin (hardened sap) from the boswellia sacra tree. It is burned on hot coals from a fire or on charcoal tablets.
Frankincense is used to clear energy and is of great importance in the Kemetic practices of ancient Egypt where it was burned to welcome the energies of the morning sun- to disperse the darkness of the previous night and as an offering to the solar beings- Ra and Heru (Horus).
It is likewise used to disperse the energies of our old patterns, behaviors, or cycles, so that we can step forth into our life like the birth of a new day.
